SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a secure layer which encrypts various links of the site along with user information of the site. By using SSL certificate, visitor information, login name, password, pin code, debit and credit card numbers are safe. As a result, hackers cannot extract this information. Therefore, shopping on these sites is safe.

How to understand whether the site has SSL or not?

Those sites that have SSL certificate have https:// at the beginning of their address or URL. And on all the sites where you see http:// at the beginning of the URL, SSL Certificate is not given on all the sites. Shopping on such sites is not safe.
